This Batmobile is 20 feet in length, driven by Michael Keaton that was based upon the 1967 Chevrolet Impala found in a London junkyard. It was powered by 327-cubic inch V-8 Cheverolet engine mounted low in frame in order to drop the hood line and enhance the sleek profile. It had a Rolls Royce engine components that were used to form the hood-mounted intake, turbine blades that were scavanged from a British Harrier fighter jet.
Two Batmobiles, the featured and a stand-in, appeared in "Batman" and "Batman Returns". Three additional studio-authorized Batmobiles (this was one), were constructed for publicity and promotional use after the film's release.
